Weather Today: Fair
The Pre-Primary opened in old primary school buildings on Blair Atholl Estate in 1990.
In 2005 it was moved to a new school built by Wraypex on Lindley property, across the main road from BA Estate. Four spacious classrooms, which is a first for the Grade R learners, who previously occupied a passageway for their classroom.
We have 100 learners between ages of 3 – 7, with 5 qualified educare teachers. Training sponsored by Fdt / Trust and other corporate donors. (1 teacher : 25 learners) and one assistant.
The Preschool funded in entirety by Blair Atholl Trust.
Our learners are on a feeding scheme and receive 2 meals per day.
Blair Atholl Primary School, which is state funded with some additional funding from the pre-school, provides education to some 480 learners from grade 1-7.
The learners are bused in on the Blair Atholl School bus. Donated by Storm Financial (Australia) Maintenance is sponsored by FleetAfrica, but diesel costs etc are covered by the Trust.
As there are very few other pre-schools in the area, it is vital that the children from the surrounding impoverished communities receive some stimulation and education in preparation for their entry into formal schooling. http://www.blairathollschool.co.za
